Leading the Industry in
Evidenced-Based Design
NYC-Based Field Operations have been the Lead Landscape Architects for the SWMD Transformation Project since 2023. Their team employs expertise in public space revitalization and designing with people and nature in mind to create an outdoor environment that embodies the Southwestern Medical District’s purpose as a destination for health and healing.
Field Operations has worked on a wide-range of urban design and landscape architect projects ranging from "large urban districts and mixed-use masterplans, to large parks, waterfronts, and public spaces” and more.
- Some of their most notable designs include the highly-acclaimed High Line in New York City, Presidio Tunnel Tops in San Francisco, and South Park Plaza at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London.
- Field Operations are no strangers to Dallas.; they designed West End Square in Downtown, which recently celebrated its three-year anniversary in March 2024. Their design transformed a parking lot into what is now the only neighborhood park for the West End Historic Districts’ resident and employee population. Highlights of the space include the “Frame”; a steel shade structure that wraps itself around the park perimeter; offering a welcome space into the park to relax or work, native landscaping courtesy of the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens, and a water feature that is activated according to Dallas’ variable weather. The Field Operations team recently won a 2023 Brick Industry Association Brick in Architecture Award for the West End Square design.
