Alex Rea
Development Manager
Alex Rea joined the Texas Trees Foundation team in June 2022. She leads the Development team by managing fundraising for projects, connecting with partners, and grant-writing effort. Her current role at Texas Trees combines her professional, academic, and personal interests into a role that can help her better the communities she grew up in.
She graduated with a Political Science and Public and Professional Writing degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 2022. During her time at school, her studies were paired with a job at the school newspaper as their Business and Sales Manager. This helped to combine her academic and career interests by navigating an ever-changing media space, community engagement, and fundraising for a non-profit.
While in school, she interned for Pittsburgh City Councilman Cory O’Conner where she wrote memos on meetings and pertinent legislation and acted as a liaison between various government bodies, local businesses, citizens. Prior to that position, Alex was an intern at the City of Pittsburgh Permits, Licensing, and Inspection office – where she created monthly newsletters and helped audit city permits, applications, and licenses.
After hours, you will find her hanging out with her little black cat, watching sports with friends, and enjoying seasonal activities all year-round.
