Rebekah Barzee

Cool Schools Education Coordinator

Hi! I’m Rebekah, a horticulturist and landscape designer. I am delighted to step into the role of Cool Schools Education Coordinator at TTF. My husband, Tanner, and I recently moved to DFW from Southeast Idaho. We enjoy traveling, cooking new foods, and spending time outside with our corgi, Mozzie. What drew me to Texas Trees Foundation was the organization’s dedication to environmental education and the visible impact they have made in reforesting our urban environment.

I have experience in water conservation and education, and I am very passionate about planting native and drought-tolerant plants that support the diverse life found in our ecosystems. I am eager to invigorate our educational programs and curriculum with topics important to supporting our natural ecosystems and shaping a sustainable future for Texans. In my past design works, I focused my efforts on putting people back where we came from, outside! Reflecting on this and my own public education journey, it is my goal to improve community access to greenspaces, provide teachers with valuable curriculum and tools, and enrich students’ educational experiences by supporting their growth and development with outside play. I am proud to be part of the Cool Schools team at TTF, and I look forward to planting trees with you!
