The Medical District is becoming cleaner, greener, and healthier – and YOU can be part of the team!
Texas Trees Foundation, with support from partners and numerous stakeholders (that’s you!), is leading the charge to bring new life into the Harry Hines corridor. Together, we can change the character of the District to better connect people to the great institutions, the natural environment, and each other.
Joining the team is as easy as 1, 2, 3!
STEP 1
BE AN INFLUENCER
What do you think the Southwestern Medical District needs? Trees? Bike lanes? Space ships?
We want to know!
STEP 2
LEARN MORE
Meet the rest of the team, learn about our process, and check out some of the research behind the project.
STEP 3
DON’T MISS OUT
There are so many things happening in the District and we don’t want you to miss any of it! From Market Center to Mockingbird, the transformation of the Harry Hines corridor will be an initiative you will want to share with everyone.
Pop Up Events
On Earth Day, April 22, the first live public engagement event was held at the Parkland DART Station. We talked to more than 60 people- many of which were DART riders, shuttle drivers, Parkland patients, and some Parkland employees. This was the first pop-up of many to come, and we chose this site to hear the voices of community members who otherwise might not have access to the survey.
Many filled out a paper version of the survey or participated in the interactive boards to express the changes they would like to see incorporated in the project.
Results from the live event will be tabulated with the online survey. We look forward to continuing this in-person outreach in the District on Thursday, June 24 and Saturday, June 26.
