Vistra Corp and Burns & McDonnell join with Texas Trees Foundation to plant 100 trees
DALLAS, TX (March 2026) – Thanks to a partnership between Vistra Corp, Burns & McDonnell and the Texas Trees Foundation, Dallas College – Eastfield Campus will receive 100 new trees planted on its grounds at the end of March.
“Dallas College is honored to accept this gift from the Texas Trees Foundation on behalf of Vistra Corp and Burns & McDonnell whose generosity helps us realize our vision for a sustainable future. Our longstanding partners of 20 years, the Texas Trees Foundation, along with Vistra Corp, Burns & McDonnell, share Dallas College’s clear commitment to promote a healthier and safer community through these efforts. Our faculty, staff, students, and community partners will enjoy these trees for generations to come.”
Dr. Eddie Tealer, President of Dallas College – Eastfield Campus.
On the morning of March 26, volunteers will plant a mix of native and climate-resilient species—including pecans, willow oaks, and bur oaks--as part of the ongoing effort to mitigate the urban heat island and support the campus community’s wellbeing. The new trees will be installed along a popular walking trail and tennis courts, where they will create cooler, greener outdoor spaces for students and visitors.
This planting is part of the Texas Trees Foundation’s broader effort to support the health and wellbeing of the people who live, work, and visit Texas.
“We could not do this transformative work without the steady and lifelong commitment of our partners. It takes champions such as Vistra to advocate for and invest in the health and wellbeing of our communities. This example promotes and encourages like-minded organizations, such as Burns & McDonnell, to partner with us in providing access to nature for the most high-need areas in our cities and state.”
Janette Monear, President and CEO of Texas Trees Foundation
"We are proud to partner with Vistra and the Texas Trees Foundation on this important community initiative,” says Adam Bernardi, Renewables Business Line Director at Burns & McDonnell. "Our work with Vistra extends beyond delivering critical power projects; it’s about working together to build a more sustainable future and strengthen the communities we serve and live in.”

We're proud to have Burns & McDonnell join the mission to create greener, healthier communities,"Meranda Cohn, Vistra Chief Communications Officer and Vice President of Corporate Affairs
