Director of Urban Forestry

The Director of Urban Forestry is a senior leader responsible for shaping and directing all of TTF’s urban forestry programs and activities. Reporting to the Chief Strategy and Operations Officer, the Director of Urban Forestry aligns the activities of internal and external collaborators and cultivates program-based relationships with government agencies, private stakeholders, funders, nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, and the media to advance the understanding and use of urban trees for their benefits to human and ecological health.

Program Manager & Site Lead

The Cool Schools Program™ supports the health and well-being of PK-12th grade students through a focus on environmental stewardship and personal connection to nature. This program aims to nurture a life-long love of exploration and appreciation for the natural environment through expansive tree planting, outdoor experiential learning opportunities, and unstructured play. 

  The Project Manager & Site Lead will oversee the planning implementation of urban forestry initiatives in the Rio Grande Valley. This role will manage multiple projects that expand tree canopy, reduce urban heat, and create climate-resilient, healthier learning and living environments. The current projects advance our Cool Schools Program™ and urban forestry and tree planting initiatives which currently include the grant-funded design and installation of green schoolyards across 14 campuses in Donna ISD and Mercedes ISD.

Urban Forestry Coordinator

The Urban Forestry Coordinator is responsible for planning, implementing, and managing Texas Trees Foundation urban forestry projects. Key duties include developing and maintaining urban tree programs, coordinating tree planting and maintenance activities, developing and writing materials for consulting projects, and promoting community engagement in urban forestry initiatives. The coordinator will work closely with municipal departments, community groups, and volunteers to ensure the completion of Texas Trees Foundation planting projects and programs. This role requires strong project management skills, knowledge of arboriculture, and the ability to educate the community about the benefits of urban forestry.

Research & Grant Writing Associate

The Research & Grant Writing Associate is a critical thinker and storyteller responsible for communicating the impact of Texas Trees’ work to current and prospective funders and implementing Texas Trees’ approach to strategic growth. Reporting to the Director of Communications & Engagement, the Research and Grant Writing Associate advances Texas Trees’ awareness and fundraising to support its portfolio of community-serving programs.
