We had a blast planting trees at Oran M. Roberts Elementary School, with over 560 students helping out!
As a part of our “Cool Schools” program, tree planting and educating students about their natural environment are equally important to us.
At Roberts Elementary, students were given an educational activity with paper plates and crayons that they could draw their own tree cookies. Their tree cookies had their ages and major life events at each age, just like tree rings do. The goal of this activity helped students understand the science of tree rings by showing students how to identify the age and event markers of a tree with their own personal tree cookie as a reminder.
As always, we couldn’t do this without our roots for this event including the Roberts' Green Team, teachers, parent volunteers, AT&T volunteer, and all the excited 560+ students.
