Cool Schools Extended: 9th - 12th Grade
This program was launched through our South Dallas Greening Initiative, which aims to connect with communities to improve health, equity, climate resilience, and awareness of green careers in surrounding neighborhoods. Since 2024, we have impacted over 150 students in the South Dallas area. These lessons can be adapted to any region of Texas and beyond!
Cool Schools Extended
lessons are divided into two semesters, but are structured to move at your own pace if that works best.
During the first semester, students gain valuable knowledge in urban forestry and green career pathways, cumulating in a final project where they present new landscape design and tree planting proposals for their school campuses.
The second semester centers around learning project management skills to organize a tree giveaway event.
